Rodent proofing is essential in preventing rats and mice from a building, primarily after successful treatment.

Whilst it is not always possible to proof every hole within a building, all accessible entry points must be identified and proofed; at Roshield, we have a range of solutions to prevent rodent ingress.

Drainage Guard Flaps are an excellent device that should be installed on every property, the single one-way flap allows for water flow but prevents rats from gaining access to the property through defects in the system. Rats gaining access to buildings through drainage is the most common method of entry. Drain guards are easy to install and are available in 4″ and 6″ variants.

Vent Covers are designed to be installed to the front of air brick covers and are suitable to stop a wide range of rodent and insect pests. Mice, in particular, can gain access to buildings through tiny holes (the width of a pencil), so this is also a recommended and essential device to stop rodents. Mesh vents are suitable for mice and rats in low-pressure sites. Aluminium vent covers are ideal for all pests, including rats and squirrels.

Rodent Proofing Paste is a valuable product for quickly proofing holes around a building. The outer layer of the paste sets hard but internally remains a non-chewable paste that rodents will avoid.

Weldmesh & Wire proofing Mesh help create a physical barrier that rodents cannot pass. Our popular non-chewable weldmesh roles can be applied over large areas, such as holes leading into cavities or under fascia boards; this product is also popular in the pet industry.
